About Us

FIISS is a scout group based in Luxembourg-Cents, affiliated with the FNEL. Founded in 1994, our group has been a home for young people seeking adventure, friendship, and personal growth through scouting.

Our Story

The group was founded in 1994 by the FNEL, in close collaboration with the Melusina troupe of the AGGL. Originally, FIISS accepted only boys while Melusina was for girls, but the two groups organised joint activities under the name Melusina-Fiiss, sharing leaders while maintaining their own identities, uniforms, and committees.

In 1996, the group had 41 active members. By September 2000, the group grew stronger through a merger with the Etoiles Européennes, gaining more scouts and becoming more international. Unfortunately, a shortage of leaders led to the group suspending activities after 2005.

In 2013, coinciding with the inauguration of the new FNEL headquarters on the Zens, the group was relaunched with the Cub Scout branch under the leadership of two FNEL cheftaines. In September 2015, a Scout branch was added as the Cubs grew older, and in 2022 the Explorer branch was established.
